Find them at basement nights and warehouse one-offs reaching from New York to Montreal and overseas Berlin, a collect of conneisseuring clubbers. Void of tasteless vagabonds and cheap standards, looking to give credit where credit is due. The recent flood of clichéd counterfeits has made most music today better left unsaid, but it's the rumours stuck in our head that tug at our ego and give us the need to shine light. A compulsive urge to spread from one ear to the next, to draw a line between bottle service cogs and what is honestly the cutting edge of electronic music. There's no room for Vegas roller coasters or casual chit chat, just Night Rumours worth spreading.

Mike Gervais
Behind You EP
System; 16-June-2014
SYSTEM01

Curating some of Minneapolis' most notorious parties for those local music affiliates who appreciate the many sounds of underground dance music, Mike Gervais finally realizes his lucrative SYSTEM events into a record label. With a premiere catalog that features three floor-proof tracks by Gervais himself, the first impression assuredly leaves techno enthusiasts wanting to hear more of this sprouting Midwest techno scene. With "Behind You" and "Slip In" supplying back to back doses of dusk-tinged & woozy vibrations, "Push" clouds the air with somber notes for a perfect cool off. There's a limited white vinyl pressing with hand-printed designing done by local Minneapolis artists available here.

Sciahri
Mysterious Love
Ilian Tape; 2014-May-26
ITX03

Driven to produce music powered by the paramount energy reached on the dance floor, Florence-based producer, Sciahri, brought to German imprint – Ilian Tape – his first record, Mysterious Love. Four tracks pressed on quality 180-gram vinyl via the label's ITX Series, it's not hard to figure out why this release sold out swiftly around the biggest online webshops. Proper techno pushed in rounded style that denotes classic, modern, and futuristic rhythmic endeavors. There's no standout here, just four solid gems brilliantly alligned for sweaty wall-rattling nights.

 Marcel Dettmann
Seduction
Ostgut Ton; 2014-June-30
O-TON76

It seemed impossible for nothing more to come out of Dettmann II's hooking (and CD Only) track, "Seduction". Including Emika's reverberant vocal performance that lifted the hair up our spine, Marcel Dettmann's  finally put together a remix package featuring an all Ostgut affair of residents. With remixes by Ryan Elliott, Anthony Parasole, and Deuce (Shed + Marcel Dettmann), the once obscured and feebled track gets a breath of new life drawn into it. As Elliott stabs sapid rhythm and grooves, Parasole injects suspense filled frequencies aimed straight at the medulla. Yet, it's Deuce's rendition that reinvents the song into a tender 130 BPM solid techno track.

Raíz
Transcend
VRV; 2014-June-20
VRV002

A name synonymous with Los Angeles' techno compass, Raíz return to their VRV imprint for a second time unshackling three punchy and synthesis-induced tracks destined for nothing less than dance floor peaktime. Representing dire ambition and understanding of how much to get out of a track's conceptual crux, Transcend—when reduced—classifies as three effective techno tools, but as a whole suits to be regarded as the methodized work of two craftsmen who know their trade. As "Transcend 1" seamlessly builds up to a kinetic force that follows up the chordy spume topped in "Transcend 2", the culminating sensation of "Transcend 3" strips down to a lighter degree without ever losing its rumble.

Bordeaux
WotNot Music; 2014-June-23
WOT016

Packed with enough fruitful sub-bass to last you all of Summer, UK producer, K15, brings warm-heartedness back to house music by way of Wotnot Music. Bordeaux reintroduces a jab of piano house stirred with  jazzed boogie meant to make us fall in love all over again with dance music. With two original tracks by K15 and two remixes of "Bordeaux" by Kaidi Tatham and Glen Astro & IMYRMIND there is really nothing better to kick off a Friday night or unwind to on a Sunday morning with. Smooth all around, both remixers and artist align hand in hand with WotNot's stated mission to distribute fun and intelligent dance music. And while Bordeaux is probably not the release that'll have you jumping up and down with your hands in the air, it will surely make your heart feel fulfilled and good. Sometimes that's all we need, don't you agree?
