It’s odd how some words that are so similar can have such different meanings. For example, emotional equals crazy, but moody we often associate with brooding and a layer of depth. Well, England’s Rebecca Clements’ “Coma Boy” is more the later with moody layers of vocals, it’s simplistically beautiful.
She takes the song back to the basics of minimum production, key elements, a great voice and a well-paced guitar base and the result is subtle and pure. These days songs, no matter how many are involved in the production, can have any number of musical ingredients but stripped down to the core and Rebeca has created an introspective tune that’s the epitome of raining weather music
