Earlier this year at Ultra Music Festival, Steve Angello dropped a number of standout tracks in his excellent set. One that stood out for me was a gorgeous, guitar-driven vocal house track featuring the vocals of former Starsailor front-man James Walsh. Like many of the tracks played at Ultra, I only later discovered the identity of the track as the collaboration between progressive house DJs Eddie Thoneick and Abel Ramos, "Love Will Never You Down." Punchy, energetic ,and ridiculously melodic, the track was a highlight of Steve Angello's set, and it's easily one of my favorite big-room house tracks this year.

And today, EARMILK has the exclusive first look at Walsh's acoustic version of the track. Guitar firmly in hand, Walsh serenades us with an impressive (albeit quite toned-down) take on the original. Stripping away all the electronic wizardry, Walsh's vocals sound almost somber and meloncholy, becoming even more evocative in this version. While the juxtaposition of the moods and emotions between the two songs can be jarring, it's always nice to be reminded that EDM's best songs work on multiple levels. So check out the video below, and you can grab a copy of the acoustic version (and original and various remixes) for yourself on June 23 from Size Records.
