Rochelle Jordan is anything but "Lowkey" on her new single

With the working week (for most) slowly coming to an end, we all need a track to just kick back and relax too. Today, we've been given a slice of R&B gold from a Canadian by way of Los Angeles, the formidable Rochelle Jordan.

I've been following Rochelle's story for a while now, ever since I stumbled across her Pressure EP back in August 2012. Indeed, that nine track project was one of my favourite discoveries the past couple of years, and really found myself a new favourite voice, with her vocal melodies mirroring those of the untouchable and legendary Aaliyah. Since then, the Toronto native has released a couple of really dope singles, including the funky "Follow Me" back in December. With a little bit of a gap, in which Rochelle has been hard at work on new music, we have now been blessed with a new single from Jordan, the beautifully mellow "Lowkey". Sticking to her guns with her vocal range, and clever vocal patterns, Rochelle delivers what is expected of her based on her previous efforts. Lyrically, the subject of trying to keep your love for someone on the down low, and not trying to bring it into the public domain is the main topic in this track, and the soothing tones of her voice can easily make you get lost in your own thoughts. The track, produced by long term friend and collaborator KLSH, is very lo-fi, with airy synths on top of some hard kicks and crispy snares giving a real smooth, R&B flavour to the track.

You can stream "Lowkey" below, and be sure to keep your eyes and ears locked onto EARMILK for all the latest music from the Toronto songstress.
