Since the rise of "EDM" few electronic acts have revolutionized the genre like NERO. Since 2010 or so, the British trio have made some of the most transformative and innovative music the genre has ever seen, seamlessly blending dubstep, DnB, and electro elements into awe-inspiring works. Since the release of their debut album Welcome Reality, the group has been relatively quiet. That is, until today, when they unveiled the first track of (what is presumably) their upcoming sophomore album.
And… wow. NERO is back, indeed. "Satisfy" is a sonic tour-de-force, as it contains many of the features for which the group is known. Industrial-styled sound effects coat the gritty, rolling electro bassline, and along with the 808 drum kick, gives the track a distinctly dark feel. Of course, the song features vocals by group member Alana Watson, and she sounds as lush and ephemeral as ever. Honestly, I'm not going to waste any more words on it. Check out the track below, and make sure you grab a copy for yourself tonight, when it becomes available on iTunes.
