Well$ channels Tarantino in his new video for "Django"

Well$ has continued the creative build to his highly anticipated new mixtape by moving into Tarantino territory. He’s already shown us that MTSYD: The Revenge of the African Booty Scratcher will combine elements of raw emotion with “Lil Tommy” and atmospheric hip hop with a glimpse into his “Dreams Of An Insomniac”. This time Well$ has returned to the visual world that he most famously visited with the video for “Savoir-Faire”, in which he cast his grandmother in a fresh pair of Jordans. For his latest track “Django”, Well$ has taken his vision to the cinema, taking inspiration from a recent unchained blockbuster. Well$’s Immaculate Taste is clear for all to see amidst the outstanding costume design, casting and storytelling.

“Django” sees Well$ join a militia, witness a gruesome Mandingo fight and of course roll up with a fly white girl. The track is arguably the edgiest effort to surface from MTSYD so far, as a heavy electronic beat and a flurry of haunting synths and samples including a snippet of G.O.O.D Music’s “Mercy” all contribute to a thrilling piece of ingenious rap music. Chain “Django” to your playlist now and look out for MTSYD: The Revenge of the African Booty Scratcher when it drops on May 19th.
