The French label Kitsuné took their moniker from the Japanese word for fox for a reason: the featured artists are hot. The duo production team BeatauCue is no different. Dropping their Kyllan EP on March 31st, the duo opened up to feature four remix artists, one of whom is Parisian producer Belarbi. His remix of “Kyllan” is fiery and foxy.
A pastiche of ‘90s house and modern dance, the track features ethereal female vocal hooks and crystalline fifth chords but also thick wobbling bass and pitched vocal samples. The massive track traverses a lot of ground, thanks to brilliant filtering and structuring. The bridge takes away the momentum just to give it back again with synth builds climbing high octaves.
