It has been a moment since fans heard the soothing house sounds of the rising Vancouver-based, Swiss-bred Cyril Hahn. He first gained recognition for his 2013 remix of Destiny's Child's "Say My Name" before releasing "Perfect Form" as his PMR debut, captivating listeners with his take on R&B-inspired house. Now as the deep sounds of house music gain more mainstream traction, the PMR future star prepares for a mini European tour alongside T. Williams and collaborator Javeon. Gifting fans with his first original solo production since "Perfect Form”—although he released a collaborative effort with Javeon on "Breaking" last month—Hahn is giving "Getting There" away as a free download.
Like many of Hahn's previous outputs, the power of this track comes from the subtlety of Hahn's production precision. Leading in with synthesized piano chords then incorporating rhythmic bass plugs, Hahn creates a muted yet artful production that utilizes the same pitched-down vocal effect that gained him acclaim on "Say My Name". Tying together his ability create warm melodies with airy vocals once again, Hahn looks posed for another bright year.
