The Chicago hip hop scene shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon, as the once young upstarts are beginning to mature and grow into full fledged artists. Previously associated with only the "drill" movement, the Windy City, over the course of two plus years, has expanded it sound to embrace more diversity and experimentation; freeing producers and emcees to embrace their personal inclinations or influences, resulting in some rather interesting combinations and collaborations. Martin $ky has always found solace being slightly left of center in his production and lyrical choices. From using stranger samples to claiming to be the "Pearl Gawd," he has always taken unorthodox steps while progressing, and thankfully, his talent helps to bring everything together smoothly to create solid music.

$ky's latest track, "Drama" unites this Chicago emcee with German producers Geefuturistic and The Iconics. His music typically has a cold, dark feel to it, which the beatsmiths were able to replicate successfully. Taking a single beautiful violin sample, they manipulated it into becoming the lead for an energetic mobbing track; adding layers of reverb and setting it against deep booming 808's, it exudes danger where it once only had innocence. $ky follows suit, rhyming about his haters or those who doubted him. The amount of energy that he gives off forces your head to bob in submission, it is fantastic.
"Drama" seems to be a random loosie that Martin $ky released for his fans and followers. However, it still demonstrates his continued growth and willingness to try new things. Head over to his soundcloud to hear the rest of his work, which will help you understand what truly makes him unique.
