Karen Marie Ørsted, better known by her stage name MØ, has become one of the most sought-after exports from the Northern European country of Denmark. As a teen, she ran the gambit of genres, starting with pop, then to punk, and on to rap. Her forthcoming album, No Mythologies To Follow (out March 10th on Chess Club / RCA Victor), demonstrates the broad spectrum of her passions, dipping from poppy singalongs to gritty collabs, like her previous track "XXX 88" with Diplo. However, no matter the production, MØ always delivers it in her own personal style, a slightly irreverent, "take me as I am" attitude mixed with fur, lame, and a tight braid.
Entrusted with remixing fan-favorite "Don't Wanna Dance", Davidian, the UK house producer who has quickly gained attention over the last few months, spins the track into a brighter dance anthem. Through slappy, understated piano chords and all the hi hat one could handle, the first new song from No Mythologies takes flight through masterful reinterpretation. With this one track, we're seeing the beginnings of two young stars. Grab MØ's debut album when it drops in exactly one month, and give Davidian a follow on Soundcloud to keep up with his latest work.
