If you needed proof that the New York scene is still thriving amidst the popularity of the sounds of the South, look no further than Euro League. A slick emcee that came up on my radar after the J-Dilla inspired "Grandma's Plastic Covered Couch," EL is an unstoppable rising force within the blog game. On "Magazine vs Magazine," the Bronx lyricist draws an interesting parallel between the glamorous aspects of blog royalty and the harsh reality that goes down on a regular basis in the streets. Over a chilled out instrumental provided by MP Williams, we're treated with some fantastic wordplay ( "I spit for the ghetto, cause these mags probably don't know half of the shit that we get though") and a free flowing, unorthodox rap scheme that'll stick in your head for days.

But once the tempo change around the 3 minute mark hits, you'll be buggin out, especially when those guitar sounds creep in before the track comes to a close. "Magazine vs Magazine" will be featured on League's upcoming project, Euro Trip: Continuum, so be sure to follow this guy before he blows up.
