Chox-Mak continues to up his game and the pressure on his path to bringing the old skool back. This time he calls on protégé of sorts, Henny Tha Brain, to help promote his “90’s Flow” movement with new track “40 Ounces”. Originally produced by Bunty Beats, the chilled beat compliments Mak and Tha Brain’s icy style which is kicked back but still bites with top notch, sharp wordplay. Months later the sunny backyard track has been transformed into a ominous rock rap effort courtesy of Coaste Beats. The new version of“40 Ounces” takes Mak’s vintage adventure into the territory of old skool legends Run DMC and converts the positivity of the original into dynamic confidence.

With this remix, the already menacing lyricism of the North Carolina artists enjoys increased rawness which can be attributed to the braveness shown by these versatile rappers who revisit hip hop’s past relationship with rock. Mak will look to work with Henny Tha Brain again in the near future and with outings like “40 Ounces” already under his belt, he’s made a solid start.
