Very little is known about Manchester artist Lokate, who was just signed to one of my favorite UK labels, Black Butter Records. But what we do know is that he has a thing for throwback hip-hop tracks, and today he presents us with a bootleg of Nate Dogg's classic "I Got Love". The Manchester native takes the hit 2001 single off the rapper's Music & Me album and turns it into a groovy dance rework.
With bouncy drums and a funky bassline to rock, Lokate makes it the perfect tune for the modern day dance floor. With a little dose of hip-hop and contagious vibe, Lokate pays homage to the late legendary Nate Dogg in proper fashion while celebrating classic house roots. We "got love for" both artists and this special edit of the time-honored track.
