When fishing through the dark ends of the internet trying to find some fresh music, it's easy to get lost in the multitude of loose ends and boring breaks that seem to surround it so indefinitely. However, sometimes you may even come across a release that catches your attention right away, and leaves you sitting in front of your speakers with your jaw dropped and coffee slowly leaking on to the floor. If you haven’t experienced this moment of bliss, I highly recommend you check out what I've got here.

Piatto released Bush of Ghosts on 1605 the other week and after hearing it, well, lets just say the coffee can wait. Off the bat, the opening track strikes a powerful bass line that progresses into a magnificent slew of striking chords. This is one of the only parts of the EP that ever so slightly brushes into the realm of progressive EDM. This is something I’ve been making an effort to avoid in recent months, but fortunately when the bass line drops back in, its very easy to forget that. The second track is where this release truly shines for me. “Lapse” is a brilliantly tech house tune with smooth jazzy chord stabs. Haunting vocal chops and distortions give true meaning to the EP’s title. These Italian brothers are really making a name for themselves. Catch them in Melbourne at Earthcore on Friday November 29!
