Since focusing on his solo career, Long Island rapper Roc Marciano has been able to flourish and maintain a strong grip on the underground. With releases like the widely acclaimed album Reloaded, Roc has consistently displayed his ability to create captivatingly gritty, yet poetic raps with ease. A radio rip from DJ Premier's Live From Headqcouterz show of a new Marciano track has just surfaced, in addition to the emcee himself revealing that a new project is set to drop soon.
The Pete Rock produced "The Specialist" will not appear on The Pimpire Strikes Back, a free mixtape that will be released in "10-12 days," but should give us an idea of what to expect. The track itself features Roc in a bragging mood, explaining why nobody can do it like he does over a dramatic string laden loop. The tape itself will feature the likes of Action Bronson, Meyhem Lauren, Alchemist, Evidence and Madlib. After we've digested the tape, we can also look forward to the release of his much anticipated Marci Beaucoup LP.
