Although Booka Shade's most memorable club hit came out back in 2005 with "Body Language", their upcoming release could be some of the German group's most anticipated work to date. After almost splitting up, the duo's upcoming two-CD album marks their first return since 2010, with Manchester's EVE Studios providing both inspiration and an album title for the new work.
This week saw the lead single released, and if "Love Inc" is any indication of what to expect from present day Booka Shade, fans are in for a real treat. It's a perfect intro to a storytelling album, harmonizing spoken word with smooth synths to ease listeners in. A loose and minimal tech house beat provides a nice warm-up to a full-length that includes guest appearances from Groove Armada's Andy Cato as well as Azari & III's Fritz Helder.
It blends movie score style with thumping percussive house, but both are equally likely to induce goosebumps. With a career that spans over a decade, not to mention four original albums to their name before EVE is released on November 1, it's clear that Booka Shade are still masters in their field.
