For me, the fourth of July consisted of Jay Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail on repeat. In fact, we listened to that damn album eight times that weekend. Standouts were “FuckWithMeYouKnowIGotIt” featuring Rick Ross, “Oceans” with Frank Ocean and “Tom Ford”, the track that nodded to the Texas-born designer.
Now, Texas-based “crunkstep” artist Crizzly has taken the latter and turned it into a bass-filled euphoria of his self-professed style known as crunkstep. Give Crizzly a bangin' hip-hop track, and he will turn it into a grimy, in-your-face, fuck-with-it banger. “Tom Ford” is one of the many gold star remixes in his catalog. Head on over to his SoundCloud for more bass-laced buckness, and be sure to catch him on his All Black Everything tour with horror-step master Figure, taking over subwoofers near you this fall.
