EARMILK x EPIC 2.0: Throwback Thursday with Jeremy Olander

In a world of electronic music where the professional producer/DJ is becoming a dime a dozen phenomenon, finding artists who are unique has become a tedious and more time consuming process. But like we do here at EARMILK, the big wigs over at Pryda Friends take some of the work out of that for us as everyday listeners, and so has formed the movement led by electronic and progressive pioneer Eric Prydz. One major artist who has arisen from this renegade operation is the Swedish artist Jeremy Olander, whose techno roots have led him to a futuristic and unexpectedly grounded style, one that has not only branded him as a label favorite but earned him a spot next to Prydz in the upcoming and highly anticipated EPIC 2.0 tour. A series of shows over Thanksgiving weekend that hit New York last year, the show has expanded to a tour hitting a few major US cities, and Olander will bring his shadowy and melodic music style to the stage as well. In honor of the second arrival of the show to New York, this time at the iconic Hammerstein Ballroom, Jeremy has given us a special playlist of the songs that have inspired him the most throughout his lifetime in honor of Throwback Thursday. Take a listen and let them inspire you as well, and get your tickets to one of the shows in LA, New York or Chicago HERE.

The Chemical Brothers – "Saturate"
This song has a very special vibe to it that just grips you from the first second to the last. You have no way of predicting it!

Trentemøller – "Moan"
Made by the Danish producer Trentemoller, "Moan" is a track with so many beautifully sounding details, everything he makes has a very clear sound that really impresses me!

Michael Jackson – "Smooth Criminal"
I could never make a top 5 without having Michael in there. This song needs no introduction, it was the soundtrack of my childhood!

Stream: Michael Jackson – Smooth Criminal

A Tribe Called Quest – "Excursions"
I was a big hip hop head when I was younger and A Tribe Called Quest played a big role during that time. They were both great with writing lyrics and brilliant performers!

Steve Angello – "Voices" (Eric Prydz Remix)
This was one of the first tracks from Eric that I got really into, super creative arrangement and great energy!
