There's something to be said about the bedroom producers who do it strictly for the music. No promotion, lead-ups, or previews of upcoming tracks means the support and output may not be as strong, but when material is released, it's always worth a listen. Such is the case with Swiss producer Vario Volinski, who didn't even have a Soundcloud page at the beginning of this year. Since then, notable productions include some of the most club-appropriate deep house remixes of Passion Pit's "Carried Away" and Rihanna's "Stay", not to mention his flawless original "Falling In Love".
This time, he takes on Morgan Page's classic "The Longest Road", a song that's been remixed by Lex Da Funk and even Deadmau5. Vario stays true to his style on this remix, balancing an infectiously groovy bassline with well-timed synth stabs. An extended breakdown gives listeners the chance to hear a more acoustic take on the original, with calming piano chords setting the stage for Lissie's raspy yet angelic vocals. It's a rare 10-minute version that still seems to let time float by effortlessly. Check this one out as a free download, and keep your eye on Vario Volinski.
