It’s time for a little British Invasion at Earmilk, Led by British dance band Freemasons, a definitive name in the memorable mid-2000s wave of electronic dance pop in Europe. Their name frequently appeared with vocalists like Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Kelly Rowland (and on many of my own favorite mix CDs), and today they’ve given us an exclusive first listen to their next vocal pop remix.
Out on October 6th, John Newman, who you might know from his vocal lead on Rudimental’s huge international hit “Feel the Love” will release his EP showcasing his bluesy and bubbly-sounding single “Cheating” which is quite a promising single ahead of an album release and tour. A singer, songwriter, DJ and producer, Newman’s soulful musical inspiration combined with the funky low-fi disco of Freemasons takes “Cheating” to pop gold status.
