Clubfeet – "Remind Me" (Röyksopp Cover) [Exclusive Download]

Few artists take me back to my college heydays like Röyksopp does; Thin White Duke’s edit of “What Else Is There” could easily be considered my sophomore year anthem: a bit of melancholy, some whirling euphoria, and a whole lot of bass. The Norweigan duo has a knack for creating those gut-wrenching kind of songs, the type where you aren’t sure if you should be happy or sad after listening. “Remind Me”, their 4th single released over a decade ago, definitely qualifies as one such track, and today it gets a rework by Clubfeet, the 5-man Australian/South African group best known for their 2010 LP, Gold On Gold.

To celebrate 10,000 Facebook Fans, the guys asked for suggestions on a song to cover, and, in a narrow race against Billy Idol's "White Wedding", fans requested a cover of Rökysopp's classic "Remind Me", a dazzling rendition of which the band delivers today. Taking the electronica track's dreamy undertones and bringing them to the forefront, Clubfeet spins the song into a soothing indie dance reverie. Somewhere between the slight vocal reverb and slappy synth melody, I lost myself, only returning to reality at the song's unwanted end. Go to their Soundcloud to grab the track as a free download, and be sure to pre-order out their most recent album, Heirs And Graces, which debuts September 3rd in the U.S..
