In an era where youth prodigies are not only noticed but embraced, 16-year old producer Julian Jordan is a carefully watched Dutch phenom. With a big breakout on last summer’s massive collaboration “Kangaroo”, he has steadily churned out buzzy electro singles over the past few months, including “Ramcar” and “BFAM” with fellow youngster Martin Garrix.
This time, Jordan returns with another collab with fellow countrymen TV Noise on “Childish Grandpa”, released on Spinnin Records. The track itself has a unique combination of winding melodies and main stage energy, alternating between progressive house stabs and one-note electro wobbles. Halfway through the track, it breaks down into a full acoustic piano and vinyl record white noise, slowly drawing in jazzy electro house toplines before the second drop.
With a mid-summer release and radio show support from the likes of Hardwell, R3hab, and Nicky Romero, this should be a big crossover tune for what’s left of this year’s festival season. Check it out on Beatport today.
