Through a combination of world-class productions and the sheer luck of being one of my earliest, most admired artists, Morgan Page continues to create songs that speak to me. The log cabin raised, Vermont native always brings the best of both worlds, perfectly blending heavy-hitting basslines with euphoric melodies in effort to deliver the perfect storm. Whether it be captivating originals, like “Captcha and “In The Air”, or catchy pop remixes (take his remake of Madonna’s “Miles Away”), I know it’s going to be good.
Today we see Page return with the latter, a remix of Jason Derulo’s recent hit, “The Other Side”. Having peaked at 37 in the Billboard Top 100 and currently at 16 in Pop, the track comes as a precursor to Derulo’s third album, which is slated to be released in September of this year. While much of the original remains intact, Page demonstrates his uncanny ability to flawlessly highlight vocals, taking the ambient noise down a notch and introducing in a new plucky synth line. The result, as you can hear below, brings a cleaner progressive house touch to the trending pop hit.

This remix will be the first of many, as other dance veterans (Fred Falke and Carl Cox among them) will soon put their spin on “The Other Side”. Find the original on iTunes and keep posted for the coming reimaginations.
