Following the release of The 1975's latest track, "The City", official remixes look to be slowly rolling in. Today we're treated to a chillwave musical spectacle courtesy of No Ceremony as it revamps "The City" into a dramatic and synth-filled remix. As is characteristic of chillwave tracks, No Ceremony doesn't shy away from utilizing heavy effects on lead vocalist Matthew Healy and effortlessly infuses it with pronounced synth lines. Certainly a much different take on the indie rock vibe of the original, but it works. While the vocal effects waver on being slightly repetitive, the overall harmony instantly sweeps you up effectively nullifying the aforementioned minor drawback. As we patiently wait for September 9th UK release(Sept 10th US release) to roll around for the release of their self-titled debut album, compare the remix to the original below.
