When Brooklyn's Joey Bada$$ dropped his first mixtape, 1999, last summer, he had the whole Hip Hop community screaming that he was bringing the underground back into the public eye. The majority of the tracks had that 'old school' Hip Hop vibe to them, giving you flashbacks of the 90's era. Since then, Joey has gone from strength to strength, from featuring on the star studded A$AP Rocky track "1 Train", to working with legendary producers such as DJ Premier and Pete Rock.

More recently however, Joey has become the new Creative Director of Ecko Clothing, meaning he will have a huge impact on how the brand will move forward and his appointment is largely how this track came to fruition. "Underground Airplay" is taken from Ecko Clothing's mixtape of the same name, which has given some lesser known artists the chance to feature on a collaborative effort alongside some more established names. This track sees Joey team up with fellow New York MC Smoke DZA and Southern rapper Big K.R.I.T, over the boom bap style of Hip Hop, which the underground scene is largely associated with. The direction that the video takes, is very much along the lines of the 'underground' theme. Shots of graffiti laden walls are broken up with clips of the artists in the booth and mobbin' around inside derelict buildings, giving the video a truly underground feel to it.

Joey and his Pro Era crew start their Beast Coast tour, alongside Flatbush Zombies, The Underachievers and Statik Selektah. The tour covers 20 dates across the US & Canada, you can find all the dates for this tour on the Pro Era website.
