If and when a textbook is written on music history of the 2010's, there will surely be a section on underground hip hop in the East Coast. As A$AP mob came out into the scene with full force, they completely took over, dominated the scene, and haven't looked back. Their success has also (thankfully) brought a slew of artists showing the rest of the world what New York's finest can truly offer. The blend of the tough streets with the fashion of the New York Urban style was so obvious, and yet, it wasn't predictable that music would turn in this direction.
None of this is more evident than in Brooklyn-bred stars, Flatbush Zombies and The Underachievers, both highlighting immense talent and success during their short time in the public eye. Luckily for us, the two groups are actually friends, and have collaborated together on their newest track, “No Religion,” which smoothly showcases the darker, grittier sounds of the New York underground scene and proving even more that the East Coast is ready to take over the world.

They are all currently at SXSW, but for those not fortunate enough to be in Austin right now, they have teamed with The Pro Era Crew for The Beast Coastal Tour, starting on March 22nd. Flatbush Zombies also have a new mixtape planned for a Spring release titled, Better Off Dead, and The Underachievers recently released Indigoism to tide us over until tour and festival season begins.
