Upon announcing a follow up to his 2010 debut Cerulean, Will Wiesenfeld (aka Baths) has released "Miasma Sky"; an emotional and spirited ride through winding roads that shift in altitude as Will bends the pitch of the rhythm. The song moves between chord progressions, a technique that comes up quick on you, but gives the song direction and momentum. Heavy bass stabs throughout support synth patterns and violin textures, with Will's unique approach at vocals giving the song moments that create an unexpected and gratifying experience.
"Miasma Sky" is the first taste of Baths' forthcoming album Obsidian and should draw the much deserved hype come the album's May 28 release on Anticon. The new song is toned down from his bedroom produced debut, as Will recently stated that he takes on a darker sound including pop cues on his new record, an album written with a live full band setting in mind.
