SWIM DEEP – "The Sea"

While the Birmingham based indie rock band SWIM DEEP have thus far kept themselves under the mainstream radar, the release of “The Sea” has proven to stir up the scene. Starting off where the band’s critically acclaimed 2012 debut single “King City” left off, “The Sea” quickly progresses into a livelier pop tune. The song is driven by a catchy organ backing and distorted surf-rock guitar providing a perfect landscape to showcase a strong vocal performance. While they may be heading in a direction previously navigated by bands such as Smith Westerns and Wavves they provide the listener with a sound alternative.

“The Sea” is set for release on March 4, 2013. Keep an eye out on SWIM DEEP as their debut album, produced by Charlie Hugall (Forlence and The Machine), is set for release later this year via Chess Club/Sony RCA.
