With Christmas less than 72 hours away the ever-benevolent Frank Ocean decided to unleash a special gift to fans via Tumblr with the release of a new record titled, "Wiseman". Originally slated to appear on the soundtrack to Quentin Tarantino’ s highly anticipated upcoming film Django Unchained, for better or worse the record was left on the cutting room floor. In a recent conversation with Fuse Tarantino briefly addressed the issue:
“Frank Ocean wrote a fantastic ballad that was truly lovely and poetic in every way, there just wasn’t a scene for it. I could have thrown it in quickly just to have it, but that’s not why he wrote it and not his intention. So I didn’t want to cheapen his effort. But, the song is fantastic, and when Frank decides to unleash it on the public, they’ll realize it then.”
The absence of "Wiseman" from Django Unchained likely won't be a deal breaker for moviegoers and apparently didn't affect the Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter's review of the film either. Stream the previously unreleased record below and look out for Django Unchained starring Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz and Leonardo DiCaprio which is set to impact Christmas Day.
