A recent pet project by The Pains of Being Pure at Heart shaggy-haired drummer Kurt Feldman, Ice Choir here employs the vocal talent of Chairlift's grossly underrated Caroline Polachek and with their powers combined, we have "Everything Is Spoilt By Use", off the group's upcoming album Afar, out July 31 on Underwater Peoples.
A gigantic throwback to 80s synthpop with a dusting of classic rock and R&B, the group's music is nothing like you've heard in the past month or even year — and that's a good thing. Speaking of "hot" and "bothered," Feldman's ability to create music that sounds so authentically 80's really does have me a bit hot. Maybe even bothered.
