His mixtures of oriental instrumentations and his signature heavy basslines make "Magicman" a true manifestation of audible nostalgia; making you feel as if you were in a familiar place that you've never been. "Magicman" was excluded from any formal album release but, luckily, it was included in the One Offs…Remixes & B Sides (2002) on Tru Thoughts Records–which was Bonobo's first home label before expanding his brand on to Ninja Tunes. I really do recommend giving One Offs…Remixes & B Sides a listen. There's a magnificent Bonobo mix of Pilote's "Turtle" that would tame even the most hardiest of beasts.
As a matter of fact, listen to any album from Bonobo's discography, whether it be Animal Magic (my favorite), Days To Come, Dial M For Monkey, or his latest and greatest Black Sands, and you will find yourself in another world. Away from all the daily hardships of life. Think of it as a massage parlor for your mind and soul were the happy endings are frequent and free of charge. So take your shoes off, put your feet up and let "Magicman" consume you. Do not fight it, let go of everything. YOU deserve it.
