Straight From The Teet – Lyndsay Holm & Skye Wide

There's no exact way of knowing how many songs are released in a day. Whether it be an eighteen second kazoo ditty on Soundcloud, or a Hypem track with 4 hearts, all music deserves a shot. Even on an independent blog like Earmilk, it's impossible to cover every band/song/remix worth listening too. That's why Straight From the Teet is back, and this time…IT'S DAILY! My name is Logan (aka Running) and I will be curating Earmilk's newest old feature, highlighting two up-and-coming artists from two different genres, so sit back and enjoy some good-old-fashioned, non-pasteurized, Earmilk. Drink it fast though, because I'll be coming back tomorrow with more…

(P.S. Check out Saturday Mornings, a blog I made with some close friends of mine)

Sunrise

In a few short days I'll be driving through lovely Rockford, Illinois on my way to college at Oberlin. I can promise you that during those early morning treks, when the sun just peeks across the freeway's horizon towards gentle rolling hills, that I will be listening to Lyndsay Holm. For two reasons I'll be doing this: 1) She covers Best Coast and has a lovely voice 2) It's tough to have existential angst about college if you're listening to ukelele-bedroom-pop. Her first release is a two track EP titled This Summer (with retro album art to boot), and it's definitely worth picking up. Enjoy.

Bedtime

It's tough to fall asleep in the summer. People speed by until dawn, blaring bro-step with their brights on. Shadows from venetian blinds zoom across my bedroom ceiling like moving glow-stars from when I was little. Slowly, you get more and more relaxed. You try sleeping on your stomach, right side, back, left side, until you run out of options. I don't count sheep anymore, but I do listen to Skye Wide Sea. It's difficult to really compliment a band when you say that listening to them helps you sleep, but I do mean it in the nicest way possible. It's probably the best chill pop music I've heard this summer, so check their latest Golden Small EP. You'll be glad you did.
