A call to drag indie back to something with more boog and Manilow, the Rapture have reunited from their parted ways to bring you DFA's most anticipated recordings. The first single How Deep Is Your Love is up front about the band's Bee Gees influences but the chorus perverts my mind with silver haired Sisqo and the Thong Song. Setting the original aside, Wax Motif and A&R tastemaker Neoteric gave out a remix this week and I have to say I don't remember the last time free music tasted this good. Simple and to the point, it employs the body of grand piano chords and a straight drum beat to lock you into a classic 90s house groove.
This LP is going to not only leave a mark on indie music, but anything electronic and dance in general. Be sure to follow up the DFA page to get updates on release dates and other slated remixes. And if you're a fan of the sound, check out Wax Motif and Neoteric's other collaborations like Go Deep and Springer.
