There's no exact way of knowing how many songs are released in a day. Whether it be an eighteen second kazoo ditty on Soundcloud, or a Hypem track with 4 hearts, all music deserves a shot. Even on an independent blog like Earmilk, it's impossible to cover every band/song/remix worth listening too. That's why Straight From the Teet is back, and this time…IT'S DAILY! My name is Logan (aka Running) and I will be curating Earmilk's newest old feature, highlighting two up-and-coming artists from two different genres, so sit back and enjoy some good-old-fashioned, non-pasteurized, Earmilk. Drink it fast though, because I'll be coming back tomorrow with more…

What's your favorite smell, favorite sound, sight, or sensation of the summer? I love the way storm clouds roll in late at night, swimming on a rooftop pool when you feel that first drop of warm, dewy rain. I love the smell of cars being washed with hot water and vinegar to get the hard water spots off after a night of chick-chick-chicking irrigation in the park. Great Skies' Summer Moments EP is all of those things. It's the latest free release from the veritable king of future-garage labels: Cut Records. Their music spans all forms of cinematic, textural, bass music, and their latest London darling Great Skies is a wonderful addition. I just want June 21st to be back.

I hate to pigeonhole myself into only featuring drone bands, but for some reason I really like the concept. By showcasing the slight modulations in pitch, timbre, and rhythm, bands like Quality Strangers highlight the most artistic bit of music: its imperfections. The scraping glissando as an acoustic guitar player moves from chord to chord, when the "controlled" feedback hisses just a bit much, I love those bits. Disembodied vocals, open strumming, and harmonic white noise flesh out most of their latest Leslie EP, and the releases namesake "Leslie" is arguably the most accessible track. Check out all their records on Bandcamp here, or just check the highlights from their latest on SFTT.
