John Parsley and Amsterdam-based label Silhouette Music are killing the soft, sexy bedroom disco. After the smooth vibes of last year’s debut Roshan EP, the mysterious Swiss producer is back with his follow up Friends EP. The same lush, dreamy layers of synths return along with that same retro feel that’s become a signature to all things John Parsley.
The Friends EP consists of three tracks for you to cruise along to. They all have that same sophistication and feminine air to them, but they all bring a little something special to the EP. “Friends” has those synths and bounce in the bass that we’ve come to love, but the piano accents and soulful vocals pull everything together. As guessed, “Smokey Autumn” brings more of a chill to things. “Gin Tone Ik” has to be my favorite. Between the rolling bass and solid kick, I’m hooked.
