EARMILK has not featured Kicks N Licks many times before other than in Wobble Wednesday, but they've recently come across our radar again. Residing in the dub genre, this duo from San Diego makes all types of bass music that would satisfy any appetite of any bass head. Just last month, they sparked the Internet's interest with a remix of "Professional" by The Weeknd. Now, Kicks N Licks have put out an impressive remix of Jakwob's hit song, "Fade."
The strongest part of this remix is easily the integrated vocals that work so well with Kicks N Lick's structure. Having slightly sped up the lyrics, they keep the aura from the original track but create an entire new experience with the lyrics at the same time. That initial chorus is so soft and instantly leaves on you such a satisfied note before they build the remix up into a complextro-dub structure that comes crashing down. Again, I can't help but emphasize how well they've managed to take the Maiday's vocals and mix these sexy lyrics with the type of dub that this duo does so well.
