Brooklyn emcee/producer MeLo-X steadily impresses us with his talent, winning us over with releases like his remix EP of Maxwell's BLACKsummers'night and his more recent project GOD:HiFi. The latter harbored great cuts like "Girls Like Rihanna" and our Daily 2% choice "Mojitos and Little Dragon". X taps into an even more experimental realm than usual for GOD:WiFi, the third installment in his EP trilogy.
He crafts warped tracks to snap on like personal favorite "Finer Things" with co-production from Sango and soulful vocals by R&B songstress Elle Pierre, where he casts out negative influences and focuses on the finer things in life. Perhaps one of the most exciting aspects of MeLo's music is he matches the ability of being unpredictable with the ability to continuously raise the bar for his sounds. Where artists lack originality, the East Flatbush resident thrives. The instrumental for "International Lovers" alone is an example of the talent that's pushed the Brooklynite to the forefront of underground and the reason why he's poised to continue making his mark. It's easy to vibe to the shuffling percussion and fall in love with Lary, a singer MeLo enlists.
