Mashup Monday – we're back again with some of the freshest mashes to start your week off right. These are the mashes that are worth hearing, so stop your searching and instead settle down at your computer… turn up your speakers… and get ready for that sweet nectar that only EARMILK can give ya. Let's GO!
Apologies for being late with this week's segment of Mashup Monday. With the likes of The Hood Internet, The Jane Doze, Kaskade, Loo & Placido, and many more gracing our first Mashup Monday post of March, you'll be sure to quench your thirst for mashups with these assortment of milky tunes. First up, we have the aforementioned Chicago duo The Hood Internet giving us an interesting take on 2 Chainz. Pairing Tauheed Epps with Portland group, STRFKR, The Hood Internet deliver a funky fresh and engaging sound to 2 Chainz. Keep an open mind with this one because stylistically the track is completely different than the hip-hop sound we're used to from 2 Chainz…thankfully.
Another mash that caught not only my ears, but my eyes as well , was Throttle's "Inspire". Reminiscent of Madeon's "Pop Culture" live mashup video, Throttle throws all caution to the wind and absolutely delivers a very respectful live mashup in his own right. Sampling 20 different tracks, "Inspire" is done at a frenetic pace that leaves your aural senses grasping to discern what exactly you're listening to only to be wisked through another 5-6 samples before you can identify one. However, for all the samples that are used, the flow and structure of the song is on-point. Listen to the track below, and let the video equally impress you.
