Welcome to THE CLUB. A weekly dose of your favourite house, progressive house, electro house, and everything-in-between. Each week I'll bring you a selection of my favourites from the week from the best producers in the world. I'll try to feature an emerging artist or two that catches my eye more than most, so make sure to keep your eye out for weekly servings of the biggest and best names in house music worldwide.
It's not every day that artists come around who can transcend genres and audiences the way David Guetta managed to this year. His top 40 album "Nothing But The Beat" was what you would expect: a less complex and intense side to his electronic album (the electronic album from which I featured track after track here on The Club). Even the top 40 side gave us some tremendous remixes from the likes of Nicky Romero and Alesso. Alesso also released several massive tunes this year, including "Calling" and "Raise Your Head". He stands poised as one of the next young guns ready to take the world by storm, similar to Avicii's rise to stardom over the last 2 years.
Arty's track "Kate" is one of the most epic in recent memory, evoking emotions the way progressive house is meant to. Another producer who has been consistently pumping out almost trance-like progressive house gems is Marco V. He's been featured on The Club countless times and is showing no signs of slowing down for 2012. One of the names I'm really looking forward to hearing more from is Bingo Players. The duo gave us "Rattle" and "Mode", two of my favourites of the year.
For part 2 I've got a 30 minute mix for you, featuring the best of the best from the year that was. If you missed part 1, check it here, and as always leave comments for suggestions for the final 2 parts.
