Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve [Coma Cinema + Foxes in Fiction]

Really hot thumbnail for this article post!

This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one "chill" track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild or maybe you reach for something more herbal. This track is for those times. We are just your milkmen and I'm here to make a delivery. Chill…

Today's delivery is brought to you by Coma Cinema & Foxes in Fiction. Mat Cothran, the South Carolina native, has been making music under the Come Cinema moniker since 2005 and has been self recorded albums ever since. His sound could be described as a mixture of chill wave and california/indie pop with a bit of surf thrown in. Now, Coma has released the track "Her Sinking Sun" which has received quite a bit of the "remix" love and that's where today's track comes in. Foxes in Fiction (Warren Hildebrand) has come along and released his remix of the track that puts it further in the chillwave zone. Both the original and the remix are chill and you can view the original mix below in the video. This track is featured on Coma's Blue Suicide tape which you'll find the link for, below. Check out the track and chill….

  • If you seriously think either of these artists are anything close to 'chillwave' then you seriously need to reconsider your hobby/career as a music writer. That, or stop writing dumb articles like this.

  • According to Last.FM, a majority of people would call this "chillwave", so perhaps you should expand your mind a little more and get behind this definition, because if it really is otherwise than you're essentially calling most people wrong. It's like telling someone that the color "orange" isn't really "orange" it's "red", but it's totally "orange" in most people's perspectives, so maybe your just color blind? If I were to dub this something and lump this under a genre, I suppose I'd go with lo-fi, semi-psychedelic, dream pop, but that's just me. I would, however, not say that calling this "chillwave" would be wrong in any sense.

  • There's numerous of tracks that are difficult to put them in just one category so it all depends on the listener. Everyone has a take if its chill or not? enjoy anyways

  • aw man, I liked it until the vocals started. Those vocals are like finger nails on a chalk board for me; too bad 'cause the lyrics are good and the instrumentation is great!
