NYC based singer-songwriter and producer Jacque Ryal has just shared her latest poignant single. Called "Solar", the track follows her debut three song EP entitled Songs for Driving shared in June.
With "Solar", the artist writes a sad and honestly raw song all about witnessing her two friends' relationship from beginning to end. From falling in love to marrying to ultimately divorcing, "Solar" chronicles all the emotions and the devastation that ensues. The single takes the perspective from one of their stories as Jacque found herself understanding her one friend's perspective. Lyrics including, "You know that you can be bad / From the start, ripping hearts, saying your glad / That you’re built this way, great as day, it’s not you, it’s always on them / I only asked you for some courage, no one’s perfect, like a rose on a stem," show how unhealed trauma can damage a relationship. Musically, "Solar" features lush cinematic string arrangements, downtempo beats and Jacque's otherworldly and enticing vocals. Bittersweet melodies and melancholic bass are also highlighted in this exquisite emotional letter.
Jacque Ryal is the solo project of the singer-songwriter and producer who is also known for her part in the synth pop duo RYAL.
