Modern living can be overwhelming with its fast-paced environment and often we can be left at a point of complete burn out. Cat Janice is here to tell you to “Chill the fck out” as life is too short to be consumed by the constant demands of others. The Virginia-born and bred artist wrote the song after being diagnosed with cancer, filled with worries about her treatment, combined with the already everyday stresses of life, she describes the song as her “cancer mantra,” something she would say to herself when she needed a remedy for her panic attacks.

Despite everything that the musician was going through, “Chill the fck out” still somehow manages to be a fun, upbeat and uplifting anthem, radiating positive vibes. The alt-pop song brings to mind the likes of Remi Wolf, BENEE and Willow, with shimmering synths, kaleidoscopic melodies and a dance-worthy beat providing the foundations to the track.

Hoping to encourage others to stop overthinking and take a deep breath, Cat Janice is certainly someone we can all look up to.
