The UK techno scene is thriving and, arguably, the best its ever been. One of the names at the forefront of the movement are Dense & Pika, aka duo Chris Spero and Alex Jones, who provide a platform in the form of label Kneaded Pains for high quality, original techno music. The LWE residents released their Casino EP back in 2017 but today sees the release of Casino Remixes EP featuring two remixes courtesy of Truncate and another name who is taking over the techno scene, Billy Turner.
Fast gaining recognition as one of the most promising names in modern-day techno, Billy Turner has spent the last two years going from strength to strength. With gigs at London clubbing Mecca Fabric, mixes for Rinse FM and Radio 1, as well as releases on Skream's Of Unsound Mind label and Tiga's Turbo Recordings – the 24-year-old DJ and producer is providing a seemingly constant stream of new material via well-respected imprints.
Marking his 3rd release on Kneaded Pains, following on from his Resolution and Doomsday EPs, Billy has taken "Casino" and given it a touch of his inimitable techno style in the form of his Fear and Loathing Mix. Bass driven from the get-go, the track pulls listeners in with his use of the best elements from the original – looping, layering and expanding into something that has an almost hedonistic feel. The hypnotic and driving vocal littered throughout adds atmosphere to Billy’s progressive, weighty rework, perfect for warm-ups or playing peak time when the dancefloor is fully immersed.
