'What The Festival' announces 2016 lineup and an opening DJ contest

From June 17 to 20, What The Festival is returning to the scenic Mt. Hood area in Oregon for its fifth installment. Quickly growing into one of the major American transformative festivals, WTF’s lineup features a strong selection of alternative electronic acts with an emphasis on alternative forms of electronic music.

Downtempo devotees will rejoice to hear that D.C.-based duo Thievery Corporation and chillwave legend Bonobo are topping this year’s bill. For those seeking out a harder dance floor, WTF snagged future bass producers Jai Wolf, Louis the Child and Mr. Carmack. Check out the full lineup here.

This year’s festival also features an open submission competition for aspiring DJs. The winner will be awarded up to $1,000 to cover travel expenses to the festival and an opening set for the WTF’s Pool Stage. Contest finalists will be selected by public polling. Submissions will be open from Feb 24 to March 1. Enter here.

What The Festival also offers a number of hangout spots from the Casbah Hookah Lounge, Poi Spinning workshops, yoga lessons and even an onsite spa, for those in need of a mid-festival pamper.

If you’re looking for a summer retreat with good music surrounded by some of the most scenic landscapes the Pacific northwest has to offer, What The Festival is your destination.
