We first met LA-based Iconique in June with the release of a glamorous visual for their single "Sitting Pretty". Their 80's inspired sound was refreshing and spot on. Now the trio continue to provide nostalgic vibes with their new single titled "Taxi".

"Taxi" is a tribute to the iconic disco capital known as Studio 54. Full of infectious electric guitar that will remind you of Nile Rodgers's Chic days and dramatic keys, as well as synths, "Taxi" is a time hop back to the 70's. Iconique had this to say about the inspiration behind their new single:
It's an imagining of me taking an old Checker cab to the heart of the disco scene and walking through its once bustling, now deserted, halls. It's also an exploration of foresight mingling with nostalgia. We know now how disco and Studio 54's reign would end. The AIDS crisis would decimate many pivotal figures of the era, and the steady combination of racism and homophobia would lead to a backlash against the genre, which was built and loved mostly by minorities. And upon reflection of that, we see there was an innocence to the era, even despite it being a bastion of decadence.
Let's hope we get a full project from Iconique this year; but until then, get lost in the dance vibes of "Taxi".
