Phantogram has had quite year in 2016. After venturing out on the successful collaborative project with Outkast's Big Boi for their Big Grams project, the New York-based duo released their third studio album, Three, on October 7th. The album subsequently debuted at the #5 spot on the Billboard Top Albums chart, and the album's latest single, "You Don't Get Me High Anymore," is still charing on the alternative music charts.
Of course, no successful single is complete without its extensions of remixes, and for this release they've invited Australian synth pop duo Miami Horror to do the duties, following earlier remixes from The Range, How to Dress Well and ATTLAS. But Miami Horror has done something that remixers always strive to do: they've totally made it their own. A mix of melancholy, and an upbeat take on the purest form of synth pop, "You Don't Get Me High Anymore" has transformed into an ethereal, yet eery, mix of Sarah Barthel's vocals and entrancing progression.
