Siege takes on Elderbrook's "Closer"

Alexander Kotz is a producer on the rise. The UK artist known as Elderbrook has landed early success through originals gone viral on SoundCloud, leading to impressive collaborations with artists like Andhim and releases on Black Butter Records. In his work, he shows he has a tight grasp on a range of chilled out electronic sounds, from deep house to electronica, and on his latest, techno.

The original "Closer" is totally mesmerizing, with a groove that's almost subconscious in the way it becomes infectious throughout the song while paired with some folksy vocals. Today, we've got a first listen to one of the track's remixes.

On remix duties is Belgian producer Siege, who has turned "Closer" into a different kind of mesmerizing, along the lines of a track of the same name done by a familiar mouse hat-wearing artist. A wonder that could be called everything from tech house to progressive, "Closer" certainly just got a new upgraded lookk

  • skloYagrimson, lau mentioned how the French count in scores. A lot of Western European languages retain the base-20 counting system which was pervasive before the Indo-European invasions. It's why "eighty" in French is "quatre vingt" (four twenty) and why English retains "eleven" and "twelve" instead of, say, oneteen and twoteen.
