The young wunderkind known as Xan Griffin has several impressive works under his belt as an upcoming artist. At only fifteen years old, the Californian electronic producer's sound embodies a grandeur demeanor beyond his years. His style comes through as a cross between Illenium and Madeon, depicting a heaviness in melodic dubstep chords balanced with an airiness of manipulated vocals. The producer recently made waves in the scene after winning Splice's remix contest for Botnek and I See Monsta's "Deeper Love". This subsequently lead to an official Monstercat release, which exposed the producer's magic to a global audience.
In Xan Griffin's latest release, he remixes Just a Gent's "Heavy as a Heartbreak", which quickly blew up to become one of the hottest hits from the Australian producer. The original became a fan favourite, with it's smooth vocals paired with a pristine dubstep flow. Xan Griffin completely flips the track by broadening it's sound with a sprinkling of luminous synth work. Poignant melodies dance in the background and are extracted by boisterous dub-infused rumbles towards the drop. The track's ethereal outro is a musical voyage saturated in the crispest of emotions. In this remix, Xan Griffin poses his production to be expansive in both his style and emotional impact, constructing an immersive melodic utopia. Check out the track below.
