Chill…
Today's delivery comes from the land with the blessed weather, San Diego, California. Brothers Nathan and Kynan Williams form a formidable production team that infuses experimental downtempo styles, with the more palatable trap percussion schemes; the resulting product is a strangely relaxing, but energetically beautiful sound. You may recognize Nathan Williams from his time as the leader of Waaves, but this time he is one of the two producers behind Sweet Valley.
"Stone" is one of those beats that you put on before tackling a tough project, it mainly serves to uplift you and to remind you that life is something that should be appreciated. The pitched and sped down vocals help to emphasize the stunning harmony that the synthesizers and horn samples layered on top of one another create. In an odd way these ambient motifs fit amazingly well over the club like percussion, which sets the foundation for the entire track.
Sweet Valley put together an intriguing sound that is enticing and hard to resist. The Williams brothers are still figuring out hip hop production,k but they have learned enough to make us fans. You should check out more of the music, especially their album Eternal Champ. Keep it locked to Earmilk to keep up with their process and more great music.
