Those of us who listen to any hip hop have heard G.O.O.D Music's Cruel Summer by now but a few of us may have missed this bit of insight, provided by the music collective's ultimate tour de force, Kanye West. Whether you love, hate or feel indifferent about the release, there's almost no denying the level of attention given to each detail of the album. Recalling the laborious task of making the album art, West explains what type of scrutiny each track endured in the process.
"The whole thing is about 'empowerment'," West says about Cruel Summer, continuing on to say the music is meant to cultivate creativity and inspire motivation. With over 20 heavy-hitting names featured on the album, creativity and inspiration are the least we'd hope to get from such an iconic release. Check out the interview and let us know your thoughts on the album.
